Nicole Nordeman's Song - "What If?"
Do you think Jesus was just a man? A good teacher? A nice guy? A myth?
What if you're wrong?
What if He really is who He said He is?
What if He's the answer you've been looking for all your life?
What if it's time you took a leap of faith?
(And what if He really is coming back again soon?)
[And since this blog is about Calvinism:
You Calvinists think and teach that God doesn't love everyone, that Jesus didn't die for everyone, that not everyone can be saved. You teach that God only loved a few preselected people, that Jesus only died for those preselected people, and that only those preselected people can be saved. You teach that God makes our decisions for us, that we have no choice about Him, that we cannot do the one thing He said we need to do to be saved: believe in the Lord Jesus. You teach (though you might deny it) that God causes all sin and evil and unbelief for His glory and pleasure.
But what if you're wrong?
How will you defend yourself and your theology (which twists the Bible and contradicts what God plainly said) when you're standing before Him giving an account for your life, for what you told others about Him? Are you confident about your theology, confident enough that you're sure you'll be able to stand before Him with your head held high, proud of what you believed about Him, proud of what you taught others about Him?
But ...
What if God really does love everyone enough to offer all of us salvation ... but you're telling people He doesn't?
What if Jesus really did die for all people ... but you're telling people He didn't?
What if God really meant it when He said that we are supposed to seek Him, to make a decision about Him, to choose to believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior ... but you're telling people it's impossible for us to do it and that God will do it for us (well, for the few, lucky, pre-chosen people, that is)?
What if God doesn't cause sin and evil and isn't glorified by sin and evil ... but you're telling people that He does and that He is?
What if your theological views are not from God ... but from someone else? Someone disguised as an angel of light?
What if?]
